About the position
Duties
As a Hearing Technical Support Officer, you will play a key role in the preparation and delivery of virtual, hybrid and in-person hearings. You will support audiovisual, recording and videoconferencing systems, perform technical checks prior to proceedings and provide user support as required. Working closely with registry staff, tribunal members and participants, you will troubleshoot technical issues and help ensure the smooth delivery of hearings. You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of tools, processes and practices supporting hearing operations.

At the Administrative Tribunals Support Service of Canada (ATSSC), you will work in a dynamic, bilingual and collaborative environment where technology plays a critical role in the delivery of virtual, hybrid and in-person hearings. You will work closely with tribunal members, registry staff and hearing participants to help deliver reliable, high-quality services.
Intent of the process
The intent of the process is to staff two (2) bilingual imperative BBB/BBB position on a temporary basis.
A partially qualified pool will be created and may be used to staff similar positions with various linguistic requirements, classifications, tenures, locations, or security level. The pool will be primarily used to staff positions within the ATSSC but could be used by all federal organizations listed in Schedules I, IV and V of the Financial Administration Act (FAA). Must be available to work overtime on short notice.
Must be available to work on-site a minimum of four (4) days per week, and up to five (5) days depending on tribunal hearings.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives. The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:
• a satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
• an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

EXPERIENCE
Experience in installing, troubleshooting, and handling technical equipment, such as, but not limited to: videoconferencing, teleconferencing, recording, interpretation, and audio-visual equipment.
Experience in diagnosing, resolving, or escalating equipment-related technical issues in professional environments, such as, but not limited to: connectivity, virtual platforms, audio-visual systems, recording systems or interpretation systems (e.g., hearings, meetings, conferences, events, or live productions).
Experience providing guidance, training or support to users on the use of technical or audio-visual equipment
