About the position

Duties
Looking for meaningful work where you can make a real difference? Join the Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) Program and help eligible First Nations and Inuit clients access essential health benefits, including medical transportation, mental health services, vision care, and medical supplies and equipment.
By joining our team, you will have an opportunity to provide direct support to health services and community based programming. You will build and support strong working relationships with First Nations and Inuit communities, families and individuals, with a focus on improving health outcomes and reducing health risks.
In this position, you will be responsible for:
• Responding to telephone enquiries from clients, service providers, and other stakeholders
• Providing accurate and comprehensive information regarding the Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) Program.
• Organize transportation for NIHB clients to access medically necessary services.
• Grant prior approvals for access to the NIHB benefits.
• Process reimbursement requests from clients and providers.
Work environment
As a member of a dynamic call centre team serving clients across Ontario, you will play a key role in delivering essential services in a fast-paced and rewarding environment. The call centre operates seven days a week, from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. EST. This position requires flexibility in work scheduling, including mandatory shifts and, when operationally required, overtime that may be requested on short notice to support service delivery and meet client needs. Employees in this position are expected to be physically present in the office four days per week
Intent of the process
📢 This inventory is for casual employment. Casual employment is temporary employment of 90 working days or less in a calendar year, to meet needs for temporary vacancies arising from vacation, sick leave, training, special projects, etc.
