About the position
DutiesEngineering Technologist (EG-04):
• This position provides engineering technology design, project design coordination and technical support services for renovations, upgrades, and new construction projects from conception to completion.
Senior Engineering Technologist (EG-05):
• This position is a senior technologist providing design, project management and technical support services and advice pertaining to infrastructure, buildings, facilities and related systems for the department and external clients.
Senior Project Technologist (EG-06):
• This position provides engineering support to include project and lifecycle management, project and portfolio planning, as well as technical advice and design consultation pertaining to defence facilities, infrastructure, building equipment and related systems for the department and external clients.

EXPERIENCE
All Streams:
• Experience in providing engineering support services for the planning, design, construction, operation or maintenance of infrastructure.
• Experience in developing construction project documentation such as Statements of Work, Technical Statements of Requirements, technical designs and drawings, or cost estimates.
• Experience in providing technical advice to various parties.
EG-05 AND EG-06 ONLY:
• Experience in leading project teams in a multi-discipline environment.
• Experience in applying the principles and practices of project management.
EG-06 ONLY:
• Experience in supervising staff and managing assigned projects and programs.
• Experience in engaging with various parties including investors, clients, and contractors.
* Experience will be assessed in terms of the depth and breadth of activities, the complexity and diversity of work handled, as well as the level of autonomy demonstrated.

ASSET EDUCATION
• Successful completion of a post-secondary program from a recognized post-secondary institution in a field relevant to the duties of the position.

ASSET OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION
• Possession of a recognized Journeyperson or Red Seal Certificate in a field relevant to the duties of the position.
• Qualification Level (QL) 6 in an equivalent military construction engineer trade.
• Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.)
• Certified Engineering Technician (CTech)
• Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
ASSET EXPERIENCE
• Experience in using the following systems or tools: requirements management or change management software, computer aided design platforms (CAD), Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office 365.
• Experience in contract administration.
• Experience in preparing construction documents for public tender.
• Experience in conducting inspections for a variety of structures.
• Experience in preventive maintenance.
• Experience in managing financial resources.
• Experience in the application of regulations for building systems.
• Experience in infrastructure life cycle management or Civil Planning practices to develop an infrastructure program plan.
