About the position
DutiesThis position provides leadership and oversight for the organization's security, facilities, accommodations, occupational health and safety, business continuity, and asset management functions. The incumbent is responsible for personnel and physical security programs, threat and risk assessments, emergency preparedness, and business continuity planning.
The role also oversees the management of office accommodations and property services, leads significant relocation and facilities projects, and provides strategic advice to senior management on security, operational risk, compliance to a variety of governmental policies, fleet management while managing financial, human, and material resources.

Education
- Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialized courses in security or emergency management OR an acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experience.

Experience
- Experience in developing policies, procedures, standards and guidelines for physical and/or personnel health and safety/security
- Experience with business continuity management and facilities/accommodations activities including: developing or involvement in the development of a business continuity plans, emergency preparedness, pandemic preparedness, fire prevention, disaster control/recovery services, business impact assessments and risk analysis
- Experience in management of human, financial and material resources
- Experience collaborating with internal and external stakeholders and partners
Applied / assessed at a later date
Knowledge
- Knowledge of the Policy on Government Security and mandatory procedures on its eight (8) security controls, and supporting directives and standards: Directive on Security Management; Directive on Identity Management and the Standard on Identity Management and Credential Assurance; Standard on Security Screening; Standard on Security Event Reporting; and Standard on Security Categorization.
-Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety and workplace accommodation practices.
