About the position

Duties
Under this RAP work term, the student will develop and use fatty acid analysis in tissues of aquatic organisms to support the investigation of contaminant accumulation.
- Extract tissue samples
- Analyze the data
- Interpret results
Work environment
The work will be conducted in McGill University laboratories. The candidate will be required to work up to 15 hrs per week.

• you are a full-time student in a post-secondary institution
• you are enrolled in an academic program that requires research as part of your curriculum
• you meet the minimum age required in the province/territory of work

You need (essential for the job)

Your application must clearly explain how you meet the following
ED1: The student must be currently enrolled in a Master Program at McGill University with a specialization in biology, environmental toxicology, renewable resources, or environmental studies. Preference will be given to students enrolled in a graduate program in the Department of Natural Resource Science.
Note: Must be currently recognized as having full-time student status in the academic institution in which you are presently enrolled, pending approval of acceptance or in the process of submitting your application (proof of enrollment will be required prior to start date) and must be returning to full-time studies for your next academic term.

Experience:
E1. Experience working in a laboratory environment.
E2. Experience in presenting scientific results through presentations, reports or peer-review articles.
Applied / assessed at a later date
Knowledge:
K1. Knowledge of fatty acids.
K2. Knowledge of the Microsoft software suite (Excel, Word, etc).
Ability:
A1. Ability to analyze data and synthesize and interpret results.
A2. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
