This inventory will be used to staff various EG-04 positions, or equivalents, for which the duration of employment, language and security requirements, conditions of employment and work locations will vary according to the position to be staffed. Please also note that, depending on the position to be filled, asset qualifications mentioned in this posting may be required for the job and therefore considered essential qualifications. In addition, other qualifications, whether essential or asset, may be added depending on the position to be filled. You may therefore be assessed for additional qualifications not included in this posting.

Join the Centre for Health Data Integration and Direct Measures (CHDIDM) at Statistics Canada! If you have an adventurous spirit and enjoy travel, this is the position for you. During collection, you will be on continuous travel status, travelling across Canada as part of a survey collection team who moves to a new Canadian city every few weeks gathering direct health measures. Travel accommodations, transportation and per diems are included, under the National Joint Council (NJC) travel directive, for further information regarding this please consult the NJC website.

HOW TO APPLY
All information obtained throughout the selection process, from application to closing, may be used to evaluate candidates, including their ability to communicate effectively in writing.
When submitting their application, candidates are asked to answer screening questions. They must clearly demonstrate in this screening questionnaire how they meet the education and experience criteria listed in the Essential Qualifications and Asset Qualifications. Please note that stating that the requirement has been met or listing past or current responsibilities does not represent adequate substantiation. Rather, you must provide concrete examples that clearly illustrate how you meet the requirement. Failure to clearly demonstrate in your responses how you meet the screening criteria (Education, Essential Experience and Asset experience) could result in the rejection of your application. Inconsistencies in the application package may result in your submission being rejected. Furthermore, the content of your response must be supported by your CV/resume as your responses to these questions will be used as a primary source of information and your CV/resume will only be used to validate this information.
A good way to proceed with the development of your example would be to use the STAR model:
S – Situation: Describe the situation and provide all relevant details.
T – Task: What tasks did you have to perform? What needed to be done to resolve the situation?
A – Actions: What did you do to resolve the situation and why did you choose this action plan? Did you consider other options? Why weren’t those options chosen?
R – Results: What was the outcome of the actions you took? What could you have done differently? Did you achieve your goals?

EDUCATION
• Diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution in medical laboratory technology or a medical laboratory assistant program.

EXPERIENCE :
• EXP1 - *Recent experience in performing direct health measures on a variety of populations such as adults, children, individuals with physical or mental limitations or the elderly following standardized procedures.
• EXP2 - *Recent experience working in a laboratory processing and analyzing biological specimens such as blood and urine;
• EXP3 - *Recent experience performing human phlebotomy following standardized procedures on a variety of populations such as children, the elderly and individuals with physical or mental limitations.
*Recent is defined as having performed the duties within the last two (2) years.

KNOWLEDGE :
• K1 - Knowledge of the theory, principles and practice of physical measures tests.
• K2 - Knowledge of a variety of physical measures testing protocols and how to interpret the test results.
• K3 - Knowledge of the operation of laboratory equipment;
• K4 - Knowledge of the quality control concepts and procedures related to processing biological specimens;
• K5 - Knowledge of laboratory safety regulations and procedures;
