About the position

Duties
The Human Resources Assistant duties will vary depending on the HR team to which the Human Resources Assistant is assigned. Typical duties would be to:
• Provide administrative and technical support to HR Advisors, Leaders and others on the HR team.
• Compose, format and produce a variety of human resource documentation.
• Arrange meetings and organize materials.
• Administer HR programs, assigned projects, and assist in conducting HR-specific processes.
• Provide CER staff and leaders with information concerning HR programs, services, and systems.
• Assist in the creation and updating of business process procedures and work instructions, and create and maintain files.
• Maintain and update HR databases to ensure data accuracy and integrity; prepare regular and ad-hoc reports on HR databases.
• Assist in project managing staffing processes and HR projects, events, meetings or programs.

This role is based in Calgary, Alberta. Please note that this position is subject to the Canada Energy Regulator's Hybrid Work Policy. Employees are required to attend the workplace in accordance with the policy requirement.
Intent of the process
Intent to staff two permanent positions.
A pool of fully or partially qualified candidates may be created to fill similar positions at the same or lower levels, with varying language requirements, security clearances, conditions of employment, and appointment types (e.g., term, acting, assignment, or permanent). The CER has the following forms of additional compensation that are separate from base salary, the eligibility for which is determined, in accordance with the provisions in the collective agreement or terms and conditions of employment for the duration period specified:
• Annual performance pay which includes elements of individual performance and corporate performance.

Education: Completion of post-secondary education in a related field or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Experience:
E1. Experience providing administrative support in a human resources or related environment, including supporting HR processes such as coordinating activities, preparing documentation, and processing administrative transactions.
E2. Experience responding to inquiries and providing guidance related to human resources, administrative processes, or organizational procedures, including directing clients or employees to appropriate resources and explaining processes clearly.
E3. Experience maintaining, organizing, and updating confidential records, files, or tracking systems in support of human resources or administrative activities.
*Experience refers to depth and breadth associated with having performed the administrative function. The amount, the complexity and the diversity of handled files, as well as the autonomy level may also be taken into consideration.
