Intent of the process
The intent of this process is to staff several indeterminate, full-time positions in Montreal, Quebec.
A pool of partially or fully qualified candidates may be established to staff similar or identical positions within the RCMP, the duration of which (term or indeterminate) and/or the security clearance and/or language profile could vary depending on the position.
If a civilian member (CM) is deemed qualified and considered for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the public service employee (PSE) category for the CM.

Operational Requirements

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to obtain and maintain Peace Officer Status
Ability and willingness to travel, sometimes on short notice within Canada or potentially abroad
Ability and willingness to work overtime, sometimes on short notice
Ability and willingness to prepare and testify in a court of law
Willingness to attend search warrant sites with investigators (police overwatch)
Possess and maintain a valid driver’s licence, dependent on region

You need (essential for the job)

Education:
Graduation from a two-year program of study from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
Note:
• Indeterminate incumbents in the IT group on December 9, 2021 who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
• Indeterminate incumbents of positions in the CS group on May 10, 1999, who do not possess the education prescribed above, are deemed to meet the minimum education standard based on their education, training and/or experience. They must be accepted as having met the minimum education standard whenever this standard is called for when staffing positions in the IT group.
• At the manager’s discretion, an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience may serve as an alternative to the minimum education stated above. Whenever the minimum education is met using this alternative, it is met for the specific position only and must be re-assessed for other positions for which this alternative has been specified by the manager.

Experience:
Both Streams :
EXP1: Recent* work experience in the field of information technology.
*’’Recent experience” refers to experience acquired and/or applied through the performance of duties within the last three (3) years. *
Stream 1 (IT-02/SP-ICT-02 only):
EXP2 : Experience in computer programming or IT infrastructure administration.
Stream 2 (IT-03/SP-ICT-03 only):
EXP3. Significant** experience in computer programming or IT infrastructure administration.
**’’Significant experience’’ refers to rich and diversified experience normally acquired through the continuous performance of duties over a period of one (1) year.
Knowledge:
Both Streams:
K1. Knowledge of advanced information technology concepts, including network protocols, component integration, networking, data storage and operating systems.
K2. Knowledge of scripting and programming languages to automate processes in support of forensic analysis or system administration.
