Due to the large number of enquiries and requests to be processed, you will need to learn how to effectively manage competing priorities in an environment with frequent interruptions, while responding to enquiries received by telephone and fax.
This position will provide you with the opportunity to acquire new knowledge and further develop your skills in areas such as client service, administration of the Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) Program, attention to detail, use of computer systems, communication, conflict resolution, workload management, and priority setting.
In this position, you will be responsible for:
• Responding to telephone enquiries from clients, service providers, and other stakeholders in both official languages.
• Providing accurate and comprehensive information regarding the Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) Program.
• Organize transportation for NIHB clients to access medically necessary services.
• Grant prior approvals for access to the NIHB benefits.
• Process reimbursement requests from clients and providers.
