About the position
Work environmentThe posted position will be stationed at the Coaldale Detachment - 705 19a Avenue, Coaldale, Alberta. Coaldale Detachment is responsible for the satellite office at the Detachment in Picture Butte.
This AS02 position is responsible for the supervision of the 2 Support Staff stationed at the Picture Butte Detachment.
The AS02 will be required to travel to the Picture Butte Detachment several days per month.
Intent of the process
This process will initially be used to staff one position on an indeterminate basis, and create a pool of qualified candidates. . This pool of qualified candidates may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

Conditions of employment
Reliability Status security clearance - RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status (ERS) security clearance.
Those selected must meet and maintain the above condition of employment throughout their employment.
NOTE: Successful candidates will require a valid RCMP security clearance prior to appointment and throughout the tenure of their employment. The process to obtain RCMP security clearance involves a security/reliability interview and a field investigation regarding matters of criminal activity which includes reference checks, verification of credit/financial status, education, employment, etc. As such, the process may take several weeks or months to complete.

Operational Requirements
• Willing and able to work in a busy police environment, including exposure to unsettling and/or graphic material.
• Willingness and ability to travel for work and/or training purposes using various modes of transportation (including owned or leased government transport, commercial and light aircraft)
• Willingness and ability to work overtime, as required.
• Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Ex1 – Experience providing administrative support services*
*Administrative support services can include, but are not limited to: providing support relating to court liaising, purchasing and procuring of goods and services, handling incoming and outgoing mail, safekeeping of exhibits/evidence. Etc.
Ex2- Experience working with internal and external clients and partners to provide information and direct inquiries.
Ex3 - Experience in employee supervision such as assigning work, scheduling, and monitoring performance.
Ex4 - Experience in maintaining a law enforcement database such as: Police Reporting Occurrence System (PROS) or Canadian Police Information (CPIC)
Ex5 - Experience in working in a law enforcement and/or legal environment.
Ex6- Experience liaising with court representatives or officials, or preparing court disclosure packages and bail hearing packages.
