About the position

Duties
Role:
This position plays a leadership role in the delivery of a standardized and comprehensive disability management program within the RCMP.
Duties:
Liaises and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders in their accountabilities for disability prevention and management.
Conducts analysis and collects all relevant case information regarding disability, prevention and management.
Manages temporary and permanent accommodation cases.
Provide guidance on a variety of regulatory and compliance requirements to ensure operational case management practices are applied.
Participates in project teams and/or committees as needed to acquire, analyze, share and evaluate information on new policies, guidelines and tools and share best practices amongst the collaborative team.
Coordinates and tracks all information in response to disability management cases and related issues from start to finish.
Intent of the process
"The immediate need is to staff 1 positions on an indeterminate basis.
A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP on an indeterminate basis or specified period (including term, acting appointments or assignments). This pool may also be used to staff similar positions, with various language and security requirements.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

EDUCATION
A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives (see Note 1).
Notes:
1. The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:
o A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
o An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Candidates who already meet both of the following criteria must be accepted as meeting the secondary school diploma requirement:
c. Candidates who have achieved a satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; and
d. Candidates who have been appointed or deployed for an indeterminate period to a position in the AS classification.
The opportunity to be assessed by at least one of the two employer-approved alternatives must be offered to candidates who have not previously met the secondary school diploma requirement.
Candidates who were appointed or deployed on an indeterminate basis using an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience meet the secondary school requirement for the AS classification only and must be reassessed for entry to other classifications on the basis of this alternative.
2. Acceptable experience and/or training in a field relevant to positions in the AS classification is required when the education qualification specified for the position being staffed is a secondary school diploma or approved employer alternatives.

EXPERIENCE
• Recent* experience in case management of files in at least one of the following programs within the public or private sector: workplace accommodations, disability management program or return-to-work program.
• Recent* experience in the formulation of advice to managers (all levels) and employees on the application of laws and policies related to at least one of the following programs within the public or private sector: workplace accommodations, disability management or return-to work- programs.
• Experience providing advice and guidance to ill, injured or disabled employees related to disability management, including but not limited to early intervention, case management, return- to-work planning and workplace accommodations.
• Experience collaborating with stakeholders to support the successful return-to-work of employees.
• Experience organizing, preparing and facilitating meetings.
• Recent* experience delivering presentations during the course of duties.
• Experience applying policies, directives, procedures and/or legislation.
* Recent refers to experience obtained within the past 3 years.
