Intent of the process
The immediate intent of the process is to fill positions on a temporary basis (Term, acting or assignment) at Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED).
This process could also be used to establish a pool of qualified candidates and could be used to fill similar positions within the various Business Offices at Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED) with various official language proficiencies (French Essential, Bilingual Imperative BBB/BBB), and using various staffing mechanisms (Indeterminate, Term extension, Term deployment, Secondment, Assignment).

Please note that the positions are located in Quebec regions only. If not already a resident of the Quebec regions, the selected candidate will have to relocate. Relocation assistance will be determined in accordance with the Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS)’s relocation directives.

Your application will first be analyzed for your main choice. The choice of region directly influences your chances of selection.
Needs vary by region: Some regions offer more short-term opportunities.

In line with Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS) direction, Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED) intends to adopt a common hybrid work model where employees work at their designated worksite at least 4 days each week, as of July 6, 2026. Those positions require on-site presence in accordance with the currency policy on the office attendance and also require the ability to travel within the territory covered by the business office to which the position is assigned.
Candidates must meet the essential qualifications to be appointed to a position. Other qualifications may be considered in the selection of the appointee.

Assessments:
The written communication may be assessed throughout the selection process, from the time the application is submitted until the process is closed, in particular through the use of screening questions and the curriculum vitae.
Candidates’ qualifications will be assessed using various assessment tools and methods, including, but not limited to, a portfolio, simulations, interviews, second language evaluation, reference checks, written examinations and previous performance agreements.
When answering the screening questions related to your qualifications, provide complete and detailed information related to your experience. Make sure this information is included in your application as well as in your resume. Do not assume that the screening board has previous knowledge of your background, qualifications, or work history. You must be specific and provide concrete examples for each “Experience” element, as applications will be screened on the information provided by the candidate. Failure to provide sufficient information may result in your application being screened out of the competition.
