About the position

Duties
Join the Fight Against Financial Crime!
The Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC) is at the forefront of ensuring the safety of Canadians and the integrity of Canada’s financial system. As Canada’s financial intelligence unit and AML/ATF supervisor, FINTRAC helps combat money laundering, terrorist financing, and threats to the security of Canada.
The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer supports the design, development, and delivery of BI solutions that enable access to reliable, well-structured information in support of FINTRAC’s financial intelligence, supervision, and corporate priorities. Working under the direction of a Senior BI Analyst or manager, the position contributes to the delivery and ongoing operation of dashboards, reports, and analytics products that support operational and strategic decision-making.
The role focuses on applying established BI development and data visualization practices to transform structured data into meaningful insights through dashboards, reports, and semantic data models. The BI Developer supports data quality validation, metadata alignment, and performance monitoring of BI products, while contributing to technical documentation and continuous improvement initiatives. In collaboration with technical teams and business stakeholders, the position helps translate reporting requirements into intuitive, scalable BI solutions, supports ad-hoc analysis, and promotes data accessibility and self-service capabilities within a secure, governed, and performance-focused enterprise data environment.
