About the position

Work environment
Indian Oil and Gas Canada (IOGC) manages and regulates oil and gas resources on designated First Nation lands across Canada. We are a special operating agency within Indigenous Services Canada. Our dual mandate is to fulfill the Crown's fiduciary and statutory obligations related to the management of oil and gas resources on First Nation lands and to further First Nation initiatives to manage and control their oil and gas resources such as governance.

Intent of the process
This is a full-time indeterminate position. A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar term, acting, assignment opportunities and/or indeterminate positions.

Operational Requirements

Ability to work in Indian Oil and Gas Canada’s office located on the Tsuut’ina First Nation, on the southwest border of Calgary, Alberta a minimum of 4 days per week.

You need (essential for the job)

Your application must clearly explain how you meet the following
A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, with acceptable specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce, or economics AND experience related to positions in the Financial Management subgroup;
OR
Have a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation from a recognized professional accounting association.
Note: Experience related to the Financial Management subgroup means that candidates must have experience related to financial management and relevant to the position being staffed. It can be acquired in the Public Service or through other means, such as volunteer work, self-employment, or in the private sector.

*Recent experience in analyzing **complex financial management issues and providing financial advice and briefings to internal and /or external stakeholders.
*Recent experience using a financial system.
*Recent experience using Microsoft Excel for financial analysis.
*Recent experience in leading a team or supervising staff.
* Recent is defined as being within the last five (5) years.
**Complex is defined as having at least two (2) of the following characteristics; concurrent activities, high impact, high risk, multiple stakeholders; multiple phases.
