Duties
The Storesperson – Multi-function:
↪ Provides multi functional warehousing and supply support services by receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and distributing a wide range of goods and materiel.
↪Prepares shipments through packaging, palletizing, and completion of shipping documentation, while ensuring accuracy of inventory records and resolving discrepancies.
↪ Operates material handling equipment and uses computerized materiel management systems to track, update, and report on stock.
↪ Maintains a safe and organized work environment in accordance with applicable safety standards and procedures.
↪ Provides guidance, on the job training, and coordination of tasks to team members as required, while supporting client service by responding to inquiries and ensuring timely delivery of materials.

Intent of the process
The intent of this process is to fill one (1) indeterminate (permanent) position in Gander, Newfoundland and Labrador.
A pool of partially or essentially qualified candidates may be established through this process and may be used to staff current and future identical or similar positions at the Department of National Defence in Gander, Newfoundland and Labrador, with various employment tenures (temporary or indeterminate), operational requirements, and conditions of employment.
Please note that all positions are on-site, and you will be expected to work in person for the entire duration of your scheduled hours.

Operational Requirements

OR1. Hold a valid provincial or territorial driver’s license.
OR2. Must be able to provide a satisfactory provincial or territorial driving record (driver abstract).
OR3. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DND driver’s license (DND 404).
OR4. Must be able to obtain and maintain the necessary driving qualifications to operate forklifts.
OR5. Willing and able to bend, lift and carry goods weighing up to 20 kg and safely operate warehouse equipment.
OR6. Willing and able to work in a confined environment.
OR7. Willing and able to work in a dusty environment.
OR8. Willing and able to work at heights (up to 60 feet).
OR9. Must be willing and able to work in adverse weather conditions.
