Intent of the process
This is an anticipatory appointment process to fill permanent and/or temporary position(s). The intent of this process is to establish a fully assessed pool of qualified candidates. However, the results of this process may be used to staff same or similar positions for future vacancies of various tenures at Public Services and Procurement Canada in the Ontario Region.

Candidate(s) must meet the Essential Qualifications and the Conditions of Employment to be appointed to the position. Candidate(s) may be required to meet the Asset Qualifications, Organizational Needs and Operational Requirements, depending on the requirements of the position being staffed.

โจReliability Security Clearance; Secret Clearance may be required depending on the Facility/Client.
โจMust be willing and able to work overtime, as required.
โจMust be willing and able to travel, including overnight travel, as required.
โจMust be willing and able to enter construction sites, as required.
โจMust be able to perform physical aspects of the position (such as site visits and climbing).
โจRequirement to possess a valid Class G driverโs license.

โจSuccessful completion of a diploma or degree (College or University) from a recognized post-secondary institution in Mechanical Technology /Engineering *
* This may include Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technician/Technology, or Building Systems Engineering/Technology.
An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience, that is comparable to a degree/diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization relevant to the work to be performed, may serve as an alternative to meet the minimum education standard.

โจRecent* and significant** experience in conducting inspections, or managing programs for building mechanical and auxiliary systems, assessing their condition and recommending any necessary corrective measures
โจRecent* and significant** experience in providing mechanical technical advice to internal or external clients on complex issues concerning mechanical building systems
*Recent experience is defined having experience for a minimum of five years within the last ten years.
**Significant experience is defined as a cumulative minimum of five years. The experience does not need to be consecutive but must total at least five years overall.

โจCertified Energy Manager (CEM) with the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE)
โจBOMI - SMT Systems Maintenance Technician (SMT)

โจExperience conducting mechanical system inspection and preparing a technical report and/or Building Condition Report.
โจExperience in operating and maintaining mechanical system i.e. Building Tech. Chef Operating Engineer, Heating Plant Operator, etc.
โจExperience with Building Systems Engineering Technology. Building mechanical systems includes, Plumbing, Piping Systems, HVAC, and Fire Protection Systems.
