Intent of the process
This inventory may be used for casual employment opportunities at the H Division Headquarters (Dartmouth, Nova Scotia) and various other locations within the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM) in Nova Scotia.
Note: Casual employment is TEMPORARY employment of 90 working days or less in a given calendar year. Casual employment may be used to meet temporary needs arising from vacation, sick leave, training, special projects, etc. Casual workers are not eligible to apply on internal advertisements. Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance - Varies according to the work to be performed. ie. RCMP Enhanced Reliability Status, Secret or Top Secret Security Clearance.
In accordance with the Treasury Board Secretariat (TBS) Directive on Security Screening, effective January 6, 2025, Canadian citizenship is a requirement for a Top Secret clearance. Please note that while a Top Secret clearance is not required at the time of application, all conditions of employment, including security clearance, must be met prior to appointment and maintained for the duration of employment in the position.

The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:

An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

ASSET EXPERIENCE:
AE1: Experience in providing service to clients or the general public by telephone, in person, or in writing.
AE2: Experience maintaining electronic and hard copy filing systems.
AE3: Experience inputting and/or manipulating data from an electronic database.
AE4: Experience providing financial support services (i.e. verifying and/or correcting financial claims, requisitioning supplies and/or controlling inventory, controlling or monitoring petty cash, preparing financial status reports, etc.).
AE5: Experience in procurement services.
AE6: Experience working in a mail processing environment.
AE7: Recent* experience using Microsoft Office Suite applications including word processors and spreadsheets.
AE8: Recent* experience providing administrative support services*** to a team or a manager.
*Recent experience is defined as having performed these duties within the last three (3) years.
***Administrative support services is defined as for example, but not limited to: managing agendas/calendars, scheduling and organizing meetings/teleconferences, preparing and collating meeting file folders and background materials, procuring office equipment and supplies, maintaining a filing system, processing and preparing correspondence, preparing record of decisions/discussions/meeting minutes, and welcoming visitors and other related duties.
