DutiesOPERATIONS DIVISION:
• Leads supervisory activities, including examinations of large and complex cases, to assess Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Anti-Terrorist Financing (ATF) risks, as well as compliance within reporting entities, contributing directly to FINTRAC’s regulatory oversight mandate.
• Conducts in-depth assessments and analyses of risk management practices, documents findings and reporting requirements, and formulates recommendations to address deficiencies and enhance risk mitigation strategies.
• Validates that notes and working papers are accurately maintained; ensures that findings and recommendations are well-supported, relevant to identified risks, and aligned with FINTRAC’s supervisory objectives and legislative mandate.
• Communicates supervisory findings and regulatory expectations to internal and external stakeholders.
• Provides specialized technical guidance and contextual analysis to less experienced colleagues and peers across divisions.
• Establishes and maintains strategic relationships with key stakeholders across various sectors to facilitate information sharing and monitor evolving risks.
• Participates in complex and sensitive discussions with stakeholders and exercises influence.
• Applies FINTRAC’s Risk and Supervisory Framework to ensure consistent, risk-based decision-making aligned with organizational priorities.
STRATEGIC DIRECTION UNIT:
• Leads strategic projects, sets priorities, and delivers results aligned with regulatory and organizational objectives.
• Contributes to divisional planning as well as change management and innovation initiatives.
• Leads and conducts sectoral reviews by coordinating planning, analysis, and engagement with reporting entities, including interviews with senior management.
• Leverages and analyzes complex data to deliver strategic insights and recommendations supporting policy, programs, and innovation.
• Develops business cases, strategic plans, and briefing notes to support senior management decision-making.
• Identifies and recommends improvements to supervisory methodologies and tools to enhance regulatory effectiveness, operational efficiency, and stakeholder engagement.
• Establishes and maintains strategic relationships with sector stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
• Develops and maintains frameworks, methodologies, and tools that support consistent and effective supervisory practices across the sector.
• Prepares comprehensive reports, presentations, and corporate documentation to support strategic planning, performance measurement, and executive-level decision-making.
