About the position

Duties
Provide technical, design, installation, and operational services for the computerized systems and devices used to support the lawful interception of private communications for provincial, federal, and foreign law enforcement agencies. Provide support to field installers regarding tracking technologies, cameras, alarm systems, and other related support systems.
Work environment
As an employer of choice for over 30,000 employees, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) promises a career like no other. With over 150 years of tradition and service, the RCMP is Canada’s national police service. Proud of our traditions and confident in meeting future challenges, we commit to preserve the peace, uphold the law and provide quality service in partnership with our communities.
C Division's Special I Section provides a wide range of covert electronic surveillance and communication intercept services. This process requires judicial authorization, allowing exhibits to be collected in compliance with current Canadian law. C Division Special I is one of four major hubs (along with Vancouver, Newmarket and Halifax) that provide centralized evidence collection.
The team is made up of IT experts, technicians, installers, legal experts, intercept monitor analysts and disclosure specialists. They provide specialized support to investigative sections.
Intent of the process
The intent of this process is initially to staff 4 indeterminate, full-time positions in Montreal (Quebec).
A pool of partially or fully qualified candidates may be established to staff similar or identical positions within the RCMP, the duration of which (term or indeterminate) and/or the security clearance (enhanced reliability, secret or top secret) and/or language profile could vary depending on the position.
If a civilian member (CM) is deemed qualified and considered for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the public service employee (PSE) category for the CM.
