About the position
DutiesAs the Executive Assistant to the Field Unit Superintendent, you are a trusted partner, and the central coordination point for the leadership and management of Parks Canada’s Labrador Field Unit. You provide high-level administrative and executive support that enables effective decision-making, information flow, and operational follow-through across a geographically dispersed and operationally complex organization.
Your duties include managing the Superintendent’s agenda and correspondence; coordinating meetings, briefings, travel, and events; tracking actions, commitments, and deadlines; and ensuring the timely flow of information between the Superintendent, managers, partners, and corporate services. You review and organize incoming material, exercise judgement in identifying priorities and sensitivities, and support the preparation, formatting, and quality control of briefings, reports, and other executive documents.
You act as a key liaison with internal teams, other field units, Indigenous partners, and corporate service providers, helping to ensure administrative, financial, and human resources processes are aligned and completed efficiently. You serve as a central coordination point for administrative services within the office, working closely with finance, human resources, and other support functions to track requests, align timelines, and ensure information and documentation are complete and provided in a timely manner. You maintain structured records and tracking systems, support budget and travel processes, and contribute to continuous improvement in office practices and information management.
This role requires initiative, discretion, and adaptability. You are expected to anticipate needs, solve problems proactively, and provide steady support in a fast-paced environment characterized by multiple priorities, evolving relationships, and operational demands. This is an opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and play a meaningful role in the effective stewardship and management of Parks Canada places across Labrador.
