Intent of the process
The immediate intent of this process is to fill two (2) positions on an indeterminate (permanent) based in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
A pool of qualified persons resulting from this process may be created and may be used to fill similar positions with linguistic profiles as well as tenures (indeterminate, deployment, acting, assignment, secondment, specified period) which may vary according to the position being staffed.

Hold a valid, unrestricted provincial drivers’ licence (for use during Temporary Duty, as required)

Operational Requirements

OR 1 – Willing and able to travel and work at various sites and under various conditions, as required.
OR 2 – Hold a valid, unrestricted provincial drivers’ licence (for use during Temporary Duty, as required).
OR 3 – Must be willing to work overtime, as required
OR 4 - Willing and able to incur daily exposure to glare from a computer screen when inputting and manipulating data for long periods of time.
OR 5 - Willing and able to obtain an unrestricted building pass to gain access to CFB Winnipeg, Building 25.

EDUCATION
ED1. Successful completion of a post-secondary program in electrical engineering technology (e.g., Engineering Technology) or civil engineering technology (e.g., Civil Engineering Technology), or an acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience.

EXPERIENCE

Both Streams
EX 1 – Experience working in the field of engineering technology (civil or electrical).
EX 2 – Experience using Microsoft Office software.
EX 3 – Experience using Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) software, including AutoCAD, to prepare design sketches and drawings.
Civil Engineering Technology
EX 4 – Experience using Civil3D to prepare design sketches and drawings.
EX 5 – Experience preparing civil technical sketches and drawings.
Electrical Engineering Technology
EX 6 – Experience preparing electrical technical sketches and drawings.
EX 7 – Experience applying the Canadian Electrical Code and relevant provincial or municipal standards.

EXPERIENCE
❗ Asset qualifications are qualifications that may be required for the position. If you possess any of the qualifications listed below, please clearly demonstrate how you meet the qualification in your application.
AEX 1- Experience assisting with and participating as a member of a multi-discipline design team acting as the technical design authority.
AEX 2– Experience reviewing submissions of materials, equipment, products, and works under construction for suitability.
AEX 3 – Experience in designing pavements and land drainage systems using industry-standard tools and software.
AEX 4 – Experience assisting civil engineering or design teams in the preparation of pavement and/or land drainage technical drawings, specifications, and models for infrastructure.
AEX 5 – Experience in reviewing and interpreting geotechnical reports and analysing topographical survey data.
AEX 6 - Recent experience in designing electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, and control systems, using industry-standard tools and software.
AEX 7 - Experience assisting electrical engineering or design teams in the modeling of electrical distribution for infrastructure or facility projects.
AEX 8 - Experience with outdoor lighting design and computer lighting design software.
AEX 9 - Experience supporting the coordination of design documentation and revisions under the guidance of senior engineers or project leads.
AEX 10 – Experience preparing specifications, cost estimates, spreadsheets, presentations, schematics, and single line diagrams (in accordance with the relevant codes and standards) for specific projects to be used for project tendering and implementation purposes.
