About the position

Duties
The Visitor Services Team Leader IV (PM 04) reports to the Visitor Experience Operations Coordinator (PM 05) and leads the Visitor Access Team, responsible for traffic management, shuttle operations, mobile park pass revenue collection, visitor information, and litter/janitorial services. This role directly oversees several high profile contracts to deliver a seasonal shuttle service serving over 3,000 visitors per day!

Intent of the process
The results of this process will be used to fill an anticipated term vacancy and may be used in the future to fill permanent or temporary vacancies that may arise at the PM 04 group and level, in the same, or other, areas within the Parks Canada Agency with full or part-time hours for various tenures, such as: Indeterminate, Term, Acting or Assignment at level, depending on status of the selected candidate.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• You will be required to work shift-work, and/or weekends, and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays as scheduled by your delegated manager. Compensation will be as prescribed in the Terms and Conditions of Employment applicable to you.
• You must be willing to work and travel in a variety of terrain and weather conditions in the performance of the duties.
• You may be required to wear a uniform while performing your duties. In this case, Parks Canada will provide you with the uniforms you require in accordance with the Parks Canada Uniform Policy.

EDUCATION
Graduation from post-secondary studies (minimum 2-year program) with specialization in tourism, recreation, leisure studies or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience relevant to position.

EXPERIENCE
• Experience setting operational goals, performance standards, and work plans, and overseeing daily activities to resolve operational issues.
• Experience recommending and implementing service or operational improvements based on feedback from staff, partners, and the public.
• Experience delivering visitor services.
• Recent* and significant** experience managing financial resources.
• Recent* and significant** experience managing human resources, including supervision, recruitment, performance management, talent development, and fostering a positive workplace culture.
* Recent is defined as performing the duties within approximately the last two (2) years.
** Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience that would normally have been gained performing the duties for a period of approximately two (2) years.
