About the position
DutiesAs a Senior Physical Security Analyst, you will play a key role in safeguarding one of Canada’s most significant and complex environments—the Parliamentary Precinct. In this role, you will lead and conduct in depth physical security reviews, inspections, and surveys across the Parliamentary Protective Service (PPS) and throughout the Precinct.
You will apply your expertise to assess threats and risks, conduct research, and develop forward looking security strategies that respond to evolving security challenges. This includes contributing to the design of physical security solutions for new construction and major infrastructure projects, ensuring that security principles are embedded from concept through implementation.
Working in close collaboration with Parliamentary Precinct Partners, as well as PPS operational and technical teams, you will help shape physical security infrastructure that aligns seamlessly with operational requirements. Your work will directly support the Long-Term Vision and Plan (LTVP) for the Parliamentary Precinct, allowing you to make a lasting impact on the safety, resilience, and future readiness of this nationally significant workplace.
Work environmentThe Parliamentary Protective Service (PPS) is a separate and distinct organization and is not subject to the Public Service Employment Act. PPS has its own classification, compensation system and staffing regime. Persons appointed to PPS continue to be part of the federal government and will receive the public service pension plan and public service insurance benefits plan.

Conditions of employment
Reliability Status security clearance - All candidates must be eligible to obtain both a Site Access Clearance and an Enhanced Reliability Status or a Secret or Top-Secret clearance.

• a security interview wherein questions may include (but not limited to), previous employment, online activities, financial situation, alcohol and/or drug use;

EDUCATION:
Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution in corporate or physical security, emergency management or in a field related to the position OR an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.

EXPERIENCES:
E1- Experience applying methods, techniques, and practices used in physical security and related technical controls in operational or project environments.
E2- Experience developing security design briefs and recommendations based on threat and risk assessments.
E3- Recent* and significant** experience in providing security advice and guidance to senior management or project leadership on security issues.
E4- Experience assessing or validating physical security controls (e.g., zoning, access, barriers) against approved requirements, risk decisions, or policy.
E5- Experience working as a security lead OR support role in multi-disciplinary real property/construction/rehabilitation projects involving various internal and external stakeholders.
DEFINITIONS:

**Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with having performed a broad range of activities related to this task, which are acquired on a full-time basis over a given period of time.
