EXPERIENCE:
EX1: Engineering and Scientific Support experience * in one or more of the following domains:
* Engineering and Scientific Support experience is defined as a minimum of four years of professional experience in engineering and scientific support functions.
Domain 1: Technical Support and Investigation. Technical Support and Investigation is the conduct of providing advanced technical expertise to sustain and optimize complex defence systems and materiel. This domain includes technologist roles focused on hands-on technical testing and investigations, failure analysis, repair and fabrication, and integration of emerging technologies to ensure operational effectiveness. Key functions may include failure investigations and root-cause analysis, extensive technical testing and evaluation using specialized tools and methodologies, specialized equipment design and maintenance, and planning and managing technical resources and assets to support operational requirements.
Domain 2: Life Cycle Materiel Management. Life Cycle Materiel Management is the planning, acquisition, sustainment, and disposal of defence materiel throughout its entire life cycle. This domain applies engineering and scientific principles to ensure equipment availability, reliability, maintainability, and cost-effectiveness. Key activities include developing long-range maintenance and recapitalization plans, managing multi-year budgets, preparing and administering contracts, coordinating technical investigations and feasibility studies, and producing technical documentation to support procurement, modification, testing, and installation of complex systems.
Domain 3: Integrated Logistics Support. Integrated Logistics Support is the strategic, management and technical process that seamlessly incorporates supportability and logistical considerations into equipment design and sustainment throughout its full lifecycle. This domain ensures that all integrated logistics support elements such as supply chains, maintenance planning, training, technical data, support equipment, facilities, and personnel are planned, acquired, tested and delivered in a timely, cost-effective manner. It applies systems engineering principles to optimize availability, reliability, maintainability and performance of materiel by aligning support solutions with operational requirements and lifecycle objectives.
Domain 4: System Engineering Management. Systems Engineering Management is the structured application of engineering principles and processes to define, develop, integrate, and sustain complex systems. This domain focuses on configuration management, quality assurance, requirements development and management, and rigorous test and evaluation to ensure compliance with operational and performance objectives. Key activities include planning and coordinating technical deliverables, maintaining configuration baselines, implementing quality control measures, eliciting and validating requirements, and executing verification and validation activities. Additionally, this domain operates in a project management capacity by developing schedules, monitoring progress, managing risks, and ensuring alignment between technical solutions and project objectives.
EX2. Experience of engineering and scientific theory and principles.
EX3. Experience working with technical data, and providing technical advice to various partners.
EX4. Experience working in a multi-disciplinary engineering or technical environment.
