DutiesWe are seeking creative, action-oriented individuals to lead or support science, monitoring, and resource management projects. You’ll collaborate with park management, specialists, and stakeholders—including Indigenous communities, private sectors, and the public—to advance Parks Canada’s conservation goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct field research, monitor ecosystems, survey species at risk, manage invasive species, and analyze ecological data.
• Coordinate permits, equipment, supplies, and schedules; train or supervise students and volunteers.
• Enhance visitor experience by sharing information and monitoring park conditions.
• Foster collaborative relationships and work effectively with partners, stakeholders, First Nations and Indigenous communities to advance shared conservation goals.
• Support cross-functional programs and operational priorities, including wildfire response coordination, human–wildlife coexistence initiatives, and other integrated resource management activities.
Streams:
• Stream 1 (EG-02): Assist with conservation projects, conduct field surveys, maintain monitoring equipment, and support habitat restoration and species-at-risk programs.
• Stream 2 (EG-03): Plan and coordinate resource management activities, analyze data, prepare technical reports, and advise on conservation strategies and environmental compliance.
Work environmentParks Canada protects and presents Canada’s natural and cultural heritage through national parks, marine conservation areas, and historic sites across the country.
This position is part of the Resource Conservation team at Bruce Peninsula National Park (BPNP) and Fathom Five National Marine Conservation Area (FFNMP), located on the Saugeen (Bruce) Peninsula within the territory of the Saugeen Ojibway Nation Anishinabek.
BPNP features dramatic Georgian Bay cliffs, forests, and diverse habitats supporting black bears, rare reptiles, ancient cedars, and orchids. FFNMP, Canada’s first national marine park, is renowned for its deep freshwater ecosystem, historic shipwrecks, and unique flora.
Together, these parks safeguard complex Great Lakes ecosystems and welcome hundreds of thousands of visitors annually for recreation, inspiration, and connection with nature.
