About the position
DutiesFacilities Attendants play a very important role at Parks Canada sites. They are tasked with cleaning and maintaining buildings, facilities and grounds all over these sites. Facilities Attendants usually work in small teams, however, sometimes have more independent work.
The right people to fill these positions should take pride in their work and go the extra mile to make sure our visitors have a great experience.
Facilities Attendants interact with visitors, answer questions, provide directions and represent Parks Canada in addition to their cleaning and maintenance duties.
The duties that Facilities Attendants carry out include:
• General cleaning of buildings, grounds, visitor centers, campgrounds, beach areas and/or walkways
• Monitoring the condition of grounds, facilities and equipment and report anything not working properly, things that may be unsafe or operational needs
• Maintaining and restocking cleaning supplies
• Responding to visitor questions
Visitor Facilities Attendant Lead Hands with an A1 (lead) role are also expected to:
• Lead their team and set the pace for their work crew
Visitor Facilities Attendant Supervisors with a B2 (supervising) role are also expected to:
• Train, schedule, oversee, provide performance feedback, and evaluate their employees
• Provide direct supervision and oversight for a team of Visitor Facilities Attendants

Intent of the process
The results from this competition may be used to fill positions at PEI National Park, Green Gables Heritage Place and Skmaqn—Port-la-Joye—Fort Amherst National Historic Site in 2026 and future operational seasons.
This process may be used to create a list of qualified candidates to staff similar positions in future years, and with various tenures.

• Wear a Parks Canada uniform as per the uniform policy and/or dress in period costume as per Parks Canada requirements;
