Work environment
Please note selected candidates will be required to work in the office full-time.
Intent of the process
The intent is to establish a pool of qualified candidates to staff various administrative and operational positions within Northwest Region Federal Policing (which could include Calgary, Edmonton, Regina and Winnipeg).
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

Conditions of employment

• RCMP security clearance
• Possession of a valid Class 5 (or equivalent) driver’s license (for positions providing fleet management support)
In accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) Directive on Security Screening, effective January 6, 2025, Canadian citizenship is a requirement for a top secret clearance. Please note that while a top secret clearance is not required at the time of application, all conditions of employment, including security clearance, must be met prior to appointment, and maintained for the duration of employment in the position. Operational Requirements

• Willingness and ability to work in a policing environment where exposure to sensitive or distressing investigative material may occur
• Willingness and ability to work overtime, or adjust hours on short notice
• Willingness and ability to travel, as required
• Willingness and ability to lift and move items, weighing up to twenty-three (23) kilograms

• Successful completion of two years of secondary school, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience

• Experience using word processing, spreadsheet and database software
• Experience entering, maintaining, and retrieving information or data from electronic systems
• Experience preparing correspondence, reports and documentation
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing

• Experience working in a law enforcement, legal or security environment
• Experience maintaining a law enforcement database (e.g., CPIC, PROS)
• Experience with transcription
• Experience providing fleet management support
• Experience handling and processing exhibits or evidence
• Experience providing financial support services (e.g., processing invoices or expenditures, budget tracking)
• Experience using a financial management system (e.g., SAP)
• Experience coordinating logistical arrangements (e.g., meetings, travel)
