About the position

Duties
Operations Managers in CORCAN are responsible to report to the executive and oversee the
operations at a site, multiple site or regional level. This may include responsibility for management within site(s) for specific business line(s) and/or regional activities such as representing CORCAN in various forums at a regional level, sales, installations, etc.. This includes ensuring the CORCAN employment and employability program is supported while considering the business and governmental aspects of operating within a Special Operating Agency.
Work environment
Depending on the position, the incumbant is based in a federal penitentiary, CORCAN community industry or regional headquarters environments. All incumbents must be willing to work on a regular basis within a federal correctional environment, including contact with offenders. Incumbents also have regular contact with other areas of CSC and the government, as well as stakeholder groups and members of the public.
🏢 Please note that this position requires physical attendance at the federal facility five days a week. The selected candidate must be able to perform their duties on-site to ensure the management of all necessary activities.

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution OR an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Experience in working in complex environments dealing with competing administrative priorities as well as the need for diverse deliverables and the requirement for timely results.
Experience in developing partnerships with diverse stakeholders.
Significant* experience in the management of human and financial resources.
*At least two years cumulative, including at least one full business cycle in the last five years.

EXPERIENCE
Relevant experience in supervising offenders within a correctional setting (institution or community based).
Relevant experience in supervising in a Manufacturing production operation.
Relevant experience in supervising in a Textiles production operation.
Relevant experience in supervising in a Services operation, such as laundry, printing or vehicle refurbishment.
Relevant experience in supervising at a Construction site.
Relevant experience in supervising Employment and Employability Programs or policy related activities.
Relevant experience in supervising Design or Engineering related areas.
Relevant experience in supervising installation and/or warehouse operations.
Relevant experience in supervising Sales and/or Marketing.
Relevant experience in supervising agriculture operations including crop production and livestock management.
