In the application, you will be asked to identify the Department of National Defence location(s) from which you are interested and able to work, in person. This information will be used to fill positions where onsite presence is required to support operations, where office space is available, or to make staffing decisions that are aligned with the Common hybrid work model and Direction on Prescribed Presence in the Workplace.
Intent of the process
The intent of this process is to create a pool of candidates to fill one (1) vacancy in an indeterminate (permanent) basis in Calgary, Alberta.
A pool of partially or essentially qualified candidates may be established through this process and used to staff identical or similar positions with various employment tenures (temporary and permanent), operational requirements, and conditions of employment at the Department of National Defence.
Please note that this position is on-site, and you will be expected to work in person for the entire duration of your scheduled hours.

EDUCATION
▶  EDU1. A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives (see Note 1).
Note:
1. The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:
• A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
• An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
Candidates who already meet both of the following criteria must be accepted as meeting the secondary school diploma requirement:
a. Candidates who have achieved a satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; and
b. Candidates who have been appointed or deployed for an indeterminate period to a position in the GT classification.
The opportunity to be assessed by at least one of the two employer-approved alternatives must be offered to candidates who have not previously met the secondary school diploma requirement.
Candidates who were appointed or deployed on an indeterminate basis using an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience meet the secondary school requirement for the GT classification only and must be reassessed for entry to other classifications on the basis of this alternative.

EXPERIENCE
▶  EX1. Experience working in museums or cultural resource management.
▶  EX2. Experience developing and maintaining relationships with a variety of internal and external partners (e.g., government, community organizations, charities, non-profit organizations, senior managers).
▶  EX3. Experience providing advice and guidance to internal or external partners.
▶  EX4. Experience planning and preparing museum collections for exhibition, including cataloguing, documentation in a collections management system, and applying conservation, security, and accessibility considerations.

▶ AEX4. Experience working within the Department of National Defence (DND) or Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), including applying Non-Public Property (NPP) regulations in a professional setting.
