About the position
Duties
This position will provide Indigenous consultation and engagement support to the wildfire recovery and reconstruction efforts in Jasper National Park. The position will report to the manager of Jasper infrastructure rebuild and work closely with the Jasper National Park Manager of Indigenous relations and cultural heritage. A key outcome of the position is to develop and strengthen working relationships with Indigenous partners for all recovery and rebuild activities. The successful candidate will provide guidance and advice to the recovery and rebuild teams in planning and executing work and support the team by facilitating Indigenous Partners interests into these programs.

Parks Canada is a federal government agency responsible for the protection and presentation of Canada’s outstanding natural and cultural resources through a system of national parks, national marine conservation areas and national historic sites in all regions of Canada.
Intent of the process
📢 We intend to hire someone on a temporary basis as a full-time employee to March 31, 2027, with possibility of extension.

Operational Requirements
● Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform when required;
● Willingness to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends, and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays, when required;
● Willingness to work and/or travel in varied terrain, weather conditions, isolated locations, and by various means of transportation.

● Experience in the development, delivery and management of strategies, plans and programs related to Indigenous and partner engagement and consultation.
● Experience in providing policy advice and guidance to managers and staff.
