About the position
Work environment
IOGC manages and regulates oil and gas resources on designated First Nation lands across Canada. We are a special operating agency within Indigenous Services Canada. Our dual mandate is to fulfill the Crown's fiduciary and statutory obligations related to the management of oil and gas resources on First Nation lands and to further First Nation initiatives to manage and control their oil and gas resources such as governance.
Intent of the process
This is a full-time indeterminate position. A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar term, acting, assignment opportunities and/or indeterminate positions.

You need (essential for the job)
Your application must clearly explain how you meet the following
- Undergraduate degree from a recognized university in a field related to compliance management (e.g., Business, Law, Finance, Public Administration, Environment, Science, Land Management, or Law Enforcement).

- Recent* experience in compliance and/or enforcement activities, either at a regulatory agency or in an operational capacity.
- Recent* experience in the development, interpretation, or application of legislation, policies, or laws.
- Experience in implementing compliance and enforcement strategies to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Experience in coordinating and collaborating with key stakeholders and/or government agencies on regulatory or enforcement matters.
* Recent is defined as three (3) years of direct, relevant experience in the past five (5) years.
Applied / assessed at a later date
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of relevant legal regimes and compliance management tools.
- Knowledge of investigative techniques and preparation of reports.
- Knowledge of preparing compliance and enforcement-related documentation.
