About the position
Duties
With guidance, the Outreach Assistant will be responsible for developing and delivering fun and engaging educational and outreach programs to a variety of audiences. You will connect with audiences at virtual and in-person festivals, events and activities around Cape Breton Island.

Operational Requirements
Willingness to work outdoors, sometimes in adverse weather conditions;
Willingness to set-up, take-down and move equipment of varying weight;
Willingness and ability to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends and/or on statutory holidays, when required;
Willingness to travel to various locations in Cape Breton and Canso, including to other Parks Canada administered places
You need (essential for the job)
Your application must clearly explain how you meet the following
Experience working or volunteering at public/special events
Experience public speaking
Experience using digital tools (ie Powerpoint)
Experience in social media
Experience writing and editing
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written .
Ability to carry out instructions accurately and efficiently.
Ability to work independently, to adapt quickly to changing circumstances and to take on a leadership role are key.
