DutiesDue to the breadth of the research undertaken at the Centre, the individual will provide support and technical assistance at an Agriculture and Agri-Food Research Centre in the soil carbon team by:
- Contributing to the development of soil carbon analytical methods and evaluation techniques.
- Contributing to the development of new soil carbon techniques and methods.
- Contributing to collection and completion of soil data analysis.
- Assisting with laboratory and field support for soil research programs.
- Carries out research activities under lab and/or field conditions.
The students will initially and primarily be expected to support soil researchers. Depending on the profile and interest of the selected candidates, conducting original research might be offered.
Work environmentThe Fredericton Research Centre in Fredericton, New Brunswick is one of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada's network of 20 research centers. The main focus of research conducted in the soil carbon team at the center is in three areas:
- Atlantic soil Survey
- Development of new lab techniques
- Enhancing the carbon storage and environmental performance of production systems
The Fredericton Research and Development Centre develops new varieties, new knowledge, and new technologies to support the implementation of economically and environmentally sustainable crop production systems.
