When you apply to this selection process, you are not applying for a specific job, but to an inventory for future vacancies. As positions become available, applicants who meet the qualifications may be contacted for further assessment.
WHEN YOU APPLY, YOU WILL NEED TO PROVIDE PROOF OF THE FOLLOWING:
•You have a Canadian secondary school (high school) diploma issued by one of the ministries of education for the provincial or territorial governments, or you have completed a degree, diploma, or certificate issued by a recognized Canadian university or college (refer to the Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials).
If your secondary education was obtained outside of Canada, you will need to obtain an equivalency assessment completed by one of the organizations listed on the Canadian Information Centre for International Credentials website, or provide proof of a completed degree, diploma, or certificate issued by a recognized Canadian university or college.
If you do not have a secondary school (high school) diploma and have not completed a degree, diploma, or certificate issued by a recognized Canadian university or college, you will need to successfully complete a Canadian Adult Education Credential (CAEC) or equivalent. For more information, contact your local board of education or adult learning centre.
Please note: You will be asked to provide Canadian transcripts of high school marks (must indicate graduated) or an equivalency assessment.
• You are a Canadian citizen or have permanent resident status in Canada. Individuals with permanent resident status must have resided (been physically present) in Canada for 3 (1,095 days) out of the last 5 years as a permanent resident.
If you are a Canadian citizen living outside of Canada for an extended period of time, it may be difficult to accurately evaluate your suitability to allow you to continue in the next steps of the application process.
• You are at least 18 years of age to apply. Note: While you can apply to the RCMP and go through the selection process and basic training at 18 years of age, you cannot be hired to work as a police officer until you are 19 years old.
• You are proficient in English and/or French
•You have a valid driver’s license. Note: Driver’s License will be requested during the process of your application.
• You are prepared and able to carry a gun and to use it or any other necessary physical force
