About the position

Duties
As an Administrative Support Assistant, you will provide essential administrative and clerical services that support the daily operations of the Correctional Service of Canada. Your responsibilities may include preparing and processing documents, managing correspondence, maintaining records, scheduling meetings, and providing general office support to ensure efficient workflow.
This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will play a key role in supporting teams and contributing to the smooth functioning of administrative processes across various locations in the Pacific Region.
Positions are in various work environments, including federal correctional institutions, community parole offices, regional headquarter facilities and community correctional centres. It's rarely the same day twice with the Correctional Service of Canada.
Work environment
The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) is the federal government agency responsible for administering sentences of a term of two years or more, as imposed by the courts. CSC is responsible for managing institutions of various security levels and supervising offenders under conditional release in the community.
Our Mission
The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC), as part of the criminal justice system and respecting the rule of law, contributes to public safety by actively encouraging and assisting offenders to become law-abiding citizens, while exercising reasonable, safe, secure and humane control.
For further information on the department, work environment and careers at CSC, visit our website at http://www.csc-scc.gc.ca.
Intent of the process
The purpose of this process is to create a pool of qualified candidates to address current and future staffing needs within the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) across various locations in the Pacific Region.
💥This process is not intended to staff permanent positions. Staffing requirements include temporary (term) appointments and casual employment (up to a maximum of 90 working days within a calendar year). Relocation for initial appointees is not provided for terms less than one year.
Correctional Service of Canada will review applications and contact applicants selected for further assessment based on the needs of the institutions. Selection may be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, indicating possession of asset experience, identification in a specific employment equity group or a specified work location. Applicants should review and complete these sections of the application as appropriate to their circumstances.
Important messages
When you apply to this selection process, you are not applying for a specific job, but to an inventory for future vacancies. As positions become available, applicants who meet the qualifications may be contacted for further assessment.
