About the position
DutiesVisitor Facilities Attendant (Janitor) duties:
• Daily cleaning of washrooms, showers and pit privies, litter picking; emptying of garbage and recycling bins, sweeping, mopping, and shoveling snow
• Interacting with park visitors, providing basic information and direction
• Travelling by vehicle through the park to provide daily cleaning and maintenance of day-use areas, visitor centres, office buildings, staff accommodations and grounds
• Addressing and resolving visitor concerns and complaints
• Conducting facility rounds to ensure visitor compliance with park regulations
Visitor Services Attendant duties:
• Interacting with visitors to support a quality experience, providing information, direction and sales of goods and services; Addressing and resolving visitor concerns and complaints

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
• Willing to perform custodial tasks such as cleaning washrooms showers, offices, garbage/recycling collection, facility/site maintenance, and picking litter
• Willing to work outdoors in variable weather conditions
• Ability to report to work in various geographically dispersed locations
• Willing to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays, evenings
• Willing to use physical effort to lift up to 50 lbs with frequent lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs
• Willing to conduct repetitive tasks
• Willing to be exposed to noxious odours from cleaning chemicals, vehicle fumes, dust, and poor air quality
• Willing to demonstrate tasks to others
• Willing to learn and demonstrate Parks Canada’s Code of Values and Ethics in all aspects of work
• Willing to learn First Aid for the workplace
• Willing to work under minimal supervision
• Willing to work in a fast-paced environment
• Willing to resolve visitor complaints or concerns

EDUCATION
Successful completion of secondary school according to provincial standards or acceptable combination of education, training, and experience.
