Intent of the process
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.
This process will be used to staff one indeterminate full-time position in Regina, Saskatchewan. A qualified pool of candidates may be established and used to staff similar positions with various tenures

Successful candidates will require a valid RCMP security clearance prior to appointment and throughout the tenure of their employment. The process to obtain an RCMP security clearance may involve, but is not limited to, a security/reliability interview, a field investigation regarding matters of criminal activity, verification of credit/financial status, reference checks, education, employment history, online activities, alcohol and/or drug use, etc., and may require certain residency requirements.

The successful candidate will be required to provide original documentation of proof of Canadian Citizenship or permanent resident status prior to appointment. Other candidates may also be asked to provide this documentation at various stages in the selection process. The following documents will be accepted as proof: Provincial or territorial birth certificate; Naturalization certificates (issued prior to Jan. 1, 1947); Registration of Birth Abroad certificates (issued between Jan. 1, 1947 and Feb. 14, 1977); Certificates of Retention; Citizenship certificates; Permanent resident card.
Candidates may be required to pay for all assessment and travel expenses.
Volume management strategies such as random selection, top-down approach, or use of asset qualifications may be used. If you meet any of the asset qualifications (other qualifications), please be sure to provide detailed responses in the screening questionnaire
Successful applicant is required to work in Regina, Saskatchewan. Telework or alternate work locations will not be an option.

Conditions of employment

Security Clearance: Royal Canadian Mounted Police Enhanced Reliability Status
Possession of a valid Canadian Drivers' License equivalent to a Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver's License

Operational Requirements

Willing and able to lift and carry objects (maximum of 25 kilograms/55 pounds)
Willing and able to work in varying weather conditions including; snow, rain, heat and cold
Willing and able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), in accordance with safety rules
Willing and able to be available to be on standby, to work shift work, work overtime on short notice, and work evenings and/or weekends
Willing and able to travel via commercial or government transportation services when required
Willing and able to work in uncomfortable positions and spaces, stand and walk for prolonged periods of time, and to work in high places, such as ladders and power mobile equipment

Experience working as a general labour performing physically demanding grounds maintenance work such as lawn care, snow removal, planting or pruning trees or flowers, etc.
Experience working with basic computer applications including: Internet, email, and word processing software such as Microsoft Word
Experience using hand held power tools such as impact drill, whipper snipper, etc.
Applied / assessed at a later date
Knowledge of safety procedures, materials and equipment related to a general labour role
Ability to lift and move objects, materials and equipment in a safe and proper manner
