About the position
DutiesYour job would be to:
Greet visitors and provide information and orientation related to facilities, services, programs, features, regulations, safety precautions and protection objectives, in person, by phone or electronically.
Respond to visitors’ needs by providing advice, information, assistance and respond to visitor complaints.
Register, process and collect fees, issue licences/permits and refunds, sell products, and assign campground sites where required. Maintain cash balances, records and stock inventory; compile and record statistical data; complete forms, sales reports and bank deposits; and use a point-of sale system/computer and a reservation system.
Respond to general inquiries, direct visitors to sources of information and service areas, and direct visitor complaints; remain attentive to park & historic site conditions and environments to detect incidents and undesirable situations (e.g. inappropriate visitor behaviour, damage to heritage resources); report situations to authorities (e.g. supervisor, higher level of prevention competence, park warden, police service of jurisdiction); advise visitors and assist with possible solutions (e.g. friendly reminders, formal notices); record and document incidents; and recommend or apply other corrective measures (e.g. securing wildlife attractants, permit cancellation).
Provide feedback and make suggestions to improve visitor services.
Apply safety and security procedures to safeguard cash, facilities, artifacts and equipment.
Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and procedures at job sites.
May provide first aid and/or assistance to visitors or staff.
Demonstrate tasks to volunteers and students.

Part-time work may be considered.
This process is intended to fill existing vacancy(ies).
This process will be used to create a pool of qualified candidates to staff similar positions with various tenures, security levels or linguistic profiles in same or other parts of the country.
