About the position
Duties
Provides semi-skilled and general maintenance, repair, building, and installation services for the Parks Canada Agency.
Work environment
Parks Canada is a federal government agency responsible for the protection and presentation of Canada’s outstanding natural and cultural resources through a system of national parks, national marine conservation areas and national historic sites in all regions of Canada.

Obtain and maintain valid class 5 driver’s license or equivalent throughout your employment.
Operational Requirements
Work shift-work, and/or weekends, and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays.
Wear a Parks Canada uniform as per the uniform policy as per Parks Canada requirements.
Must wear safety equipment as identified by supervisor.
Work and/or travel in varied terrains, weather conditions, isolated locations and by various means of transportation.
Must be able to perform the duties required by the position including moderate physical effort, stand/walk/hike for prolonged periods.
Must be willing to handle livestock or wildlife.

EDUCATION:
Grade 12 or GED equivalent or have an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.

EXPERIENCE:
Experience in yard maintenance and grounds keeping.
Experience in the operation and maintenance of manual and power tools.
Experience in the operation and maintenance of equipment.

EXPERIENCE:
Experience in fence construction and maintenance.
Experience maintaining trails.
Experience using all terrain vehicles and/or side by sides.
General experience in trades (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and/or welding).
Experience working in remote locations.
Experience with computers (ie. word processing, spreadsheets and email).
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of safety practices associated with the maintenance and asset function.
