About the position

Duties
The GL-MAN-8 will be required to travel extensively with the RCMP Musical Ride during their 2026 tour and responsible for the care for up to 30 horses, including upkeep of temporary stabling, feeding, grooming, cleaning stalls, handling horses, watching for signs of illness or injury, etc.
Intent of the process
The intent of the process is to fill temporary positions on a casual basis (up to 90 days). You will be contacted should the manager wish to consider you further.

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance - Willing and able to travel anywhere in Canada for an extended period of time between the months of July and September, 2026 for either the majority or the entire tour
Willing and able to work shift work, involving a rotation of day and night shifts
Willing and able to work a flexible schedule, be on standby, or adjust schedule with little or no notice to meet operational requirements
Willing and able to work overtime
Willing and able to work on weekends and statutory holidays
Willing and able to lift, carry and/or push heavy or awkward items, weighing up to twenty-five (25) kilograms
Possession of a valid unrestricted driver's license
Willing and able to drive a standard size vehicle
Willing and able to adapt to new and unfamiliar work environments both indoors and outdoors, where there is contact with dust, dirt, odours, noise, smooth surfaces, dampness, crowds, or extremes of hot and cold temperatures.

*Recent experience in equine husbandry
*Recent experience in the basic health and physical care of horses
*Recent is defined as within the last 3 years.
