Provides administrative and executive support services and related information for the efficient and effective management of the office of a manager. Also provides administrative services, support, and advice in one functional area in a field unit.
STREAM 2 (CR-04): Administrative Assistant
Provides clerical and administrative/operational support services and related information/guidance, typically in support of a specific function or a program area in a field unit.

EDUCATION (BOTH STREAMS):
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.

EXPERIENCE (BOTH STREAMS):
• Providing administrative or clerical support services such as: purchasing, material management, records/information management, processing financial or human resources records, data entry, preparing correspondence, arranging travel and meetings, recording minutes, and/or managing multiple e-mail and calendar accounts;
• Preparing, editing, and formatting written correspondence such as reports, letters, and emails;
• Using spreadsheets to track budgets and spending, bill payments or other activities/record types.
EXPERIENCE - STREAM 1 (AS-01):
• Providing administrative, human resources, pay roll, or financial support services.
Applied / assessed at a later date
KNOWLEDGE OF:
• Parks Canada, its mandate and values and principles;
• Record keeping and data management or basic accounting procedures.
ABILITIES (BOTH STREAMS):
• Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize various tasks effectively with changing demands and conflicting priorities;
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing;
• Ability to work independently, and with colleagues, in a multi-disciplined team environment;
• Ability to use a variety of computer software programs, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
ABILITIES - STREAM 1 (AS-01):
• Ability to interpret and apply guidelines or policies;
• Ability to compile information and prepare various correspondence and reports for middle and/or senior management.
