DutiesAs the Sr. Technician you will be responsible for:
• Installing and removing of police emergency equipment and telecommunications equipment in accordance with RCMP policy and guidelines, including the modification or electronic and electrical systems to integrate police equipment into vehicle circuity and to reconfigure vehicle features as required without compromising the vehicle’s integrity or functionality.
• Identifying, reporting and repairing potential health and safety issues related to the installation of equipment, safety equipment as it pertains to the operation of the vehicle. You will plan, design, modify and fabricate speciality equipment, safety equipment and mounting equipment for police applications including police radios, radar sets, cameras, modems, cell phones and siren systems.
• Performing preventative maintenance on equipment and unscheduled repairs as well as provide fly-in service to remote locations to service and repair on and off-road vehicles.
• Providing technical support and advice pertaining to the diagnosis and repair of police equipment and vehicles to mechanics at outposts and outside repair facilities.
• Mentoring other technical positions in performing these functions.
