About the position

Work environment
The Yukon RCMP administrative team provides administrative and operational support to the Regular Members of the RCMP.
Working with the RCMP, a world-renowned innovative organization you will experience meaningful work and have a real impact on the daily operations as well as, job satisfaction knowing you are making a real difference. These opportunities are located in a law enforcement environment which includes regular contact with uniformed and armed police officers. If you wish to provide administrative support to the RCMP, please submit your application.
Intent of the process
This inventory is for casual employment. Casual employment is temporary employment of 90 working days or less in a calendar year, to meet needs for temporary vacancies arising from vacation, sick leave, training, special projects, etc.
NOTE: Casual appointees will not be eligible to apply to internal appointment processes.
Should a CM be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to another category for the member.

References must be available, have an in-depth knowledge of your work/projects, and must be able to answer specific questions pertaining to your experience, achievements and strengths. References that are not reachable and/or not available are lowering the candidates' chances to be found fully qualified and be considered for appointment. When providing names of references, it is the candidate's responsibility to ensure they are available to respond in a timely manner.

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance - NOTE: Successful candidates will require a valid RCMP security clearance prior to appointment and throughout the tenure of their employment. The process to obtain RCMP security clearance involves a security/reliability interview and a field investigation regarding matters of criminal activity which includes reference checks, verification of credit/financial status, education, employment, etc. As such, the process may take several months to complete.
To be granted RCMP security clearance and to maintain the ethical standards of the RCMP, candidates must not be, or have been, involved in certain criminal activities, have been dishonourably discharged, have pending personal bankruptcies, etc. For additional information and a complete list of activities, please visit http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/en/good-character. • Experience providing service to internal or external clients / general public, via telephone or in person.
• Experience in using computer applications including two of the following: databases, email, spreadsheets, and word processing.
• Experience in providing records management services such as indexing, cross referencing, filing, retrieving, retention, archiving or destroying data.
• Experience working in a law enforcement and/or legal environment.
• Experience in maintaining a law enforcement database such as: Police Reporting Occurrence System (PROS) or Canadian Police Information (CPIC).
• Experience liaising with court representatives or officials, or preparing court disclosure packages
• Working effectively with others
