About the position

Duties
⭐️ Parks Canada is looking for summer students to join the Learn-to Camp Team who are enthusiastic, adaptable, and willing to learn. The key role for this Parks Canada team is to deliver outreach programs to diverse audiences in Metro Vancouver and along Coastal BC. Through the development and delivery of innovative programs and interactive presentations, the team encourages the public to connect with Canada’s rich history, experience the outdoors, and learn more about our environment and heritage. Every day is different so if you thrive in a dynamic work environment and are comfortable working a flexible schedule, look no further.
🏞️ Learn-to Camp is all about equipping people with the skills they need for their next outdoor adventure in Canada. On the Vancouver branch of this national team, expect to be running outreach booths, teaching workshops, and running weekend-long overnight camping programs. If you have an interest in learning new outdoor and camping skills, and sharing that passion for learning with others, this job is for you!
📝 Important to note: This is a dynamic job where you get to meet a lot of amazing and diverse people, and as such it requires you to be adaptable in the moment to changing priorities. You must be comfortable working a flexible schedule including some weekends in May, and all weekends in June-August. You may be working in the office from 8:00am-4:00pm, at a trailhead from 12:00pm-8:00pm, or you may be camping out under the stars with a group of new campers!
