Director General Military Personnel Research and Analysis (DGMPRA):
Director General Military Personnel Research and Analysis (DGMPRA) provides an integrated personnel research program for the Department of National Defence (DND) and the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), addressing both strategic and operational research needs. The personnel research program encompasses several domains including Personnel Generation, Personnel and Family Support, Individual and Organizational Dynamics, Personnel Science Policy Integration, and Workforce Analytics.
Intent of the process
The intent of this process is to build a dynamic pool of partially or essentially qualified DS-02/DS-03/DS-04 candidates to fill current and future vacancies in the National Capital Region (NCR).
Note: In order to situate a candidate within the DS classification level (DS-02 versus DS-03 versus DS-04), a candidate’s Years of Relevant Experience (YREs) will be used, based on their academic qualifications and their relevant experience.

EDUCATION
ED1: Graduation with a master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in economics, psychology, sociology, public health, epidemiology, or some other social science specialty relevant to the position.
Note: The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and must have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization.

EXPERIENCE
EX1: Experience in performing social or behavioural science research and analysis (e.g., survey research, job analysis, statistical analysis, qualitative inquiry, workforce analysis, or strategic analysis).
EX2: Experience in gathering, analyzing and synthesizing information and data from a variety of sources, both quantitative and qualitative.
EX3: Experience in writing or publishing in peer-reviewed scientific publications, dissertations, or analytical reports.

A1: Ability to manage multiple competing priorities and meet deadlines.

ASSET EDUCATION
AED1: Graduation with a doctoral degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in economics, psychology, sociology, public health, epidemiology, or some other social science specialty relevant to the position.
AED2: Completion of two semester-based post-graduate courses (or an equivalent of one year-long post-graduate course) in quantitative research methods, univariate or multivariate statistics, or qualitative research methods.

ASSET EXPERIENCE
AEX1: Experience in the application of quantitative research methods, and associated analytical techniques, relevant to individual, industrial, organizational, social, cultural, or behavioural research and analysis.
AEX2: Experience in conducting social or behavioural science research using one or more of the following:
• Mixed methods;
• Interviews or focus groups;
• Military or para-military personnel;
• Psychometric analysis related to test design;
• Data integration;
• Machine learning.
AEX3: Experience in conducting social science research and analysis to support decision makers.
