Work environment🚢 The Canadian Coast Guard (CCG) is a special operating agency within National Defence. We work to ensure the safety of mariners in Canadian waters and protect Canada’s marine environment. We support Canada’s economic growth through the safe and efficient movement of maritime trade. We help to ensure our country’s sovereignty and security through our presence in Canadian waters.
Our History:
With a rich history of innovation and excellence, and motto of Safety First, Service Always, the CCG is a recognized leader in maritime services and safety both nationally and internationally.
Our People:
The CCG is a vibrant, people-first organization. It is dedicated to recruiting and developing a diverse, highly trained, professional and nimble workforce – for today and tomorrow.
Our Assets:
For the people of the CCG to be able to do their jobs properly and safely, they must first be equipped with the right tools. This is why the CCG prioritizes its growing inventory of new and modernized equipment, helicopters and vessels.
Our Services:
The CCG proudly serves 243,000 kilometers of Canada’s vast and rugged coastline, the longest coastline of any given country, and is one of the few federal agencies that provides direct, front-line services 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Early services, consisting of patrol vessels, appearing along the eastern seaboard and in the Great Lakes in the 1800s, have developed into a modern and impressive list.
