About the position

Duties
Mount Revelstoke and Glacier National Parks maintain a large and diverse asset portfolio. The successful candidate will: plan, track and monitor code compliance inspections; provide contract oversight; validate and update existing asset information in Maximo for all assets; write statements of work (SOW); and support daily operational requirements.

Intent of the process
The immediate need is to fill a term vacancy until the end of March 2027.
This process may be used to create a list of qualified candidates to staff similar positions with various tenures, security levels or linguistic profiles in same or other parts of the country.

Conditions of employment

• Reliability status.
• Possession and maintenance of a valid class 5 Driver’s Licence.

Operational Requirements

• Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform and personal protective equipment.
• Willingness to work and travel in variable weather conditions in performance of the duties.
• Willingness to work irregular hours, overtime, weekends and/or statutory holidays and provincial/territorial holidays, when required.
• Candidates will be required to undergo and meet the requirements for a medical examination/pre-employment medical examinations and/or periodic medical checks.
• Willingness to report to work in Rogers Pass, BC.

Your application must clearly explain how you meet the following
EDUCATION
Secondary School diploma supplemented by post-secondary education applicable to this position (a diploma in: architectural technology, construction, engineering or building science). A combination of education, experience and training relevant to the position may be considered.

EXPERIENCE
EX1: Experience in conducting inspections that pertain to building construction, maintenance, and health/safety.
EX2: Experience in scheduling, organizing, and providing routine asset maintenance services.
EX3: Experience managing contracts in the maintenance or construction of assets.
EX4: Experience using computer software (Outlook, Word, Excel etc).

KNOWLEDGE
K1: Knowledge of general work procedures, preventive maintenance measures, workplace health and safety procedures.
K2: Knowledge of procedures to complete facility inspection, determine maintenance and recapitalization work.
K3: Knowledge of vehicle and small equipment maintenance and safety requirements.
ABILITIES
A1: Ability to write statement of work documents (SOW) for contracts; and to communicate requirements to a variety of technical and operational stakeholders.
A2: Ability to analyze problems in a variety of operational situations and develop and implement solutions.
A3: Ability to prioritize work.
A4: Ability to communicate effectively.
