About the position
DutiesTeam Leaders are responsible for overseeing front-line visitor services in Jasper National Park. They lead and motivate dynamic teams of up to 20 staff members, ensuring the delivery of outstanding experiences for park visitors.
What you’ll do:
• Plan, organize, lead and deliver daily operations.
• Supervise, coach, and support visitor services teams.
• Manage scheduling, supervision, training, and performance feedback.
• Solve problems and ensure consistent, accurate, and engaging delivery of park information and safety messages.
• Monitor visitor satisfaction and service quality.
• Communicate effectively and diplomatically, both orally and in writing, with a variety of audiences.
• Collaborate with internal teams on service delivery, facility maintenance, and strategic planning.
• Handle administrative duties and contribute to data collection and reporting.
• Assist with diverse projects that enhance, and support visitor experience operations.
• Use digital tools and software to manage operations efficiently.

Work is normally carried out in an office environment. There is exposure to variable weather conditions when moving between facilities and working outdoors.

EDUCATION:
A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives.
The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:
• A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
• An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in developing programs and in providing services to the public;
• Experience in providing mentorship, coaching, leadership, feedback, and performance evaluations to employees;
• Experience in giving instructions and delivering training;
• Experience using a variety of digital tools and computer software systems, such as point-of-sale (POS) systems, reservation and booking platforms, Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, etc.

• Knowledge of Parks Canada’s mandate and corporate objectives, especially as they relate to visitor experience in national parks;
• Knowledge of scheduling, training processes and practices to supervise staff;
