Duties

This competition will be used to fill positions at the following locations:

Campgrounds: Visitor service, revenue collection and daily cleaning/maintenance at campgrounds & day use areas to enhance the visitor’s experience. This includes but is not limited to greeting visitors and providing orientation, information and direction; confirming reservations; selling of campsites; daily cleaning of campground washroom and other facilities, day use area washrooms/pit privies, campsite cleaning/maintenance, grounds cleaning and litter picking and emptying of trash and recycling receptacles.

Visitor Services Lead Hand: Takes the lead as a member of a work crew; communicates what has to be accomplished; identifies tools and material to be used; sets the work pace; and explains work to new crew members.

In all positions, facility cleaning and maintenance is required.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Willing and able to work shifts, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime
• Willing and able to travel to various sites and work outdoors, exposed to various weather conditions
• Willing and able to perform tasks such as: lifting heavy boxes, picking litter, custodial tasks and site maintenance
• Willing and able to perform a variety of custodial tasks such as sweeping, mopping, washing walls and windows, cleaning sinks, toilets and showers, plunging toilets, collecting garbage etc.
• Willing and able to be exposed to noxious odours such as car fumes, dust, garbage, cleaning products and primitive facilities
• Willing and able to conduct repetitive tasks
• Willing and able to stand for extended periods of time, bend, stretch and work from ladders or step stools
• Willing and able to demonstrate tasks to others

Conditions of employment

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
• Security Screening: obtain and maintain a Reliability status (must be attained prior to appointment)
• Willing and able to wear identifier clothing and personal safety equipment
• Possession and maintenance of a valid Alberta class 5 driver’s license or equivalent
