Duties

Role:
The Court Admin is the subject matter expert who prepares all court documentation to be sent to the Provincial and Federal Crown Prosecutor’s Office.

Key duties include:
• Preparation of a court package to be sent to the Provincial and Federal Crown Prosecutor’s Office for approval
• Preparation of Summons to be later served to the accused
• Preparation of Subpoenas to be later served to the witness(es), victim(s), etc.
• Data entry in both PROS & CPIC
• Processing of convictions in CJIM
• External calls to our service partners
• Answer internal calls
• Assistance to police officers for their court file
• Administrative oversight support for the detachments in the district
• Control and maintain an inventory of required supplies

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff 1 position on a indeterminate basis.

A pool of candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions within the RCMP on an indeterminate basis or specified period (including term, acting appointments or assignments). This pool may also be used to staff similar positions, with various language and security requirements.

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

Education:
Successful completion of two years of secondary school or employer-approved alternatives.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
Experience providing service to clients by telephone, in person or in writing.
Experience researching, extracting and compiling information from various sources.
Experience in the use of various information management systems and software programs such as but not limited to Excel, Word, Word Perfect.
Experience interpreting and applying policy, procedures or legislation.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
Experience providing administrative services in a legal or police services environment, including researching and interpreting legislation and related legal documentation, creating and reviewing court related documents.
Experience using police databases such as: PROS, PIRS, CPIC, JISNB, MSTeams and Adobe acrobat

Conditions of employment

Reliability Status security clearance - of the RCMP. All applicants for positions within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police will be subject to a thorough security clearance process, which includes reference checks and an interview wherein questions may include (but are not limited to) previous employment, on-line activities, credit checks, alcohol and/or drug use.
